SHROOM2-FRMPD4 Fusion FISH Probe
The SHROOM2-FRMPD4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SHROOM2 and FRMPD4 genes. The fusion of the SHROOM2 and FRMPD4 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SHROOM2 Gene Summary
This gene represents the human homolog of Xenopus laevis apical protein (APX) gene, which is implicated in amiloride-sensitive sodium channel activity. It is expressed in endothelial cells and facilitates the formation of a contractile network within endothelial cells. Depletion of this gene results in an increase in endothelial sprouting, migration, and angiogenesis. This gene is highly expressed in the retina, and is a strong candidate for ocular albinism type 1 syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. Gene Name: Shroom Family Member 2
Chromosome: CHRX: 9754495 -9917481
Locus: Xp22.2
FRMPD4 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a multi-domain (WW, PDZ, FERM) containing protein. Through its interaction with other proteins (such as PSD-95), it functions as a positive regulator of dendritic spine morphogenesis and density, and is required for the maintenance of excitatory synaptic transmission. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2010]
Gene Name: FERM And PDZ Domain Containing 4
Chromosome: CHRX: 12156584 -12742642
Locus: Xp22.2
