SHISA5-IP6K2 Fusion FISH Probe
The SHISA5-IP6K2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SHISA5 and IP6K2 genes. The fusion of the SHISA5 and IP6K2 genes has been associated with Cervical Squamous Cell Carcinoma And Endocervical Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SHISA5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the shisa family. The encoded protein is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum, and together with p53 induces apoptosis in a caspase-dependent manner. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Related pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]
Gene Name: Shisa Family Member 5
Chromosome: CHR3: 48509196 -48541661
Locus: 3p21.31
IP6K2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the inositol phosphokinase (IPK) family. This protein is likely responsible for the conversion of inositol hexakisphosphate (InsP6) to diphosphoinositol pentakisphosphate (InsP7/PP-InsP5). It may also convert 1,3,4,5,6-pentakisphosphate (InsP5) to PP-InsP4 and affect the growth suppressive and apoptotic activities of interferon-beta in some ovarian cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Inositol Hexakisphosphate Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR3: 48725435 -48754711
Locus: 3p21.31
