SHB-CPEB2 Fusion FISH Probe
The SHB-CPEB2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SHB and CPEB2 genes. The fusion of the SHB and CPEB2 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SHB Gene Summary
The SH2 Domain Containing Adaptor Protein B (SHB) gene is located on chr9 :37915894-38069210 at 9p13.1.
Gene Name: SH2 Domain Containing Adaptor Protein B
Chromosome: CHR9: 37915894 -38069210
Locus: 9p13.1
CPEB2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is highly similar to cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein (CPEB), an mRNA-binding protein that regulates cytoplasmic polyadenylation of mRNA as a trans factor in oogenesis and spermatogenesis. Studies of the similar gene in mice suggested a possible role of this protein in transcriptionally inactive haploid spermatids. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Cytoplasmic Polyadenylation Element Binding Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR4: 15004297 -15071777
Locus: 4p15.32
