SGTA-INSL3 Fusion FISH Probe
The SGTA-INSL3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SGTA and INSL3 genes. The fusion of the SGTA and INSL3 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

INSL3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the insulin-like hormone superfamily. The encoded protein is mainly produced in gonadal tissues. Studies of the mouse counterpart suggest that this gene may be involved in the development of urogenital tract and female fertility. This protein may also act as a hormone to regulate growth and differentiation of gubernaculum, and thus mediating intra-abdominal testicular descent. Mutations in this gene may lead to cryptorchidism. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2012]
Gene Name: Insulin Like 3
Chromosome: CHR19: 17927321 -17932320
Locus: 19p13.11
SGTA Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein which is capable of interacting with the major nonstructural protein of parvovirus H-1 and 70-kDa heat shock cognate protein; however, its function is not known. Since this transcript is expressed ubiquitously in various tissues, this protein may serve a housekeeping function. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Small Glutamine Rich Tetratricopeptide Repeat Containing Alpha
Chromosome: CHR19: 2754711 -2783354
