SERPINA1-TMCO1 Fusion FISH Probe
The SERPINA1-TMCO1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SERPINA1 and TMCO1 genes. The fusion of the SERPINA1 and TMCO1 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SERPINA1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is secreted and is a serine protease inhibitor whose targets include elastase, plasmin, thrombin, trypsin, chymotrypsin, and plasminogen activator. Defects in this gene can cause emphysema or liver disease. Several transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Serpin Family A Member 1
Chromosome: CHR14: 94843083 -94857029
Locus: 14q32.13
TMCO1 Gene Summary
This locus encodes a transmembrane protein. Mutations at this locus have been associated with craniofacial dysmorphism, skeletal anomalies, and cognitive disability. Mutations at this locus have also been associated with open angle glaucoma blindness. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]
Gene Name: Transmembrane And Coiled-coil Domains 1
