SDK1-CHST12 Fusion FISH Probe
The SDK1-CHST12 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SDK1 and CHST12 genes. The fusion of the SDK1 and CHST12 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CHST12 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the sulfotransferase 2 family. It is localized to the golgi membrane, and catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to position 4 of the N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residue of chondroitin and desulfated dermatan sulfate. Chondroitin sulfate constitutes the predominant proteoglycan present in cartilage, and is distributed on the surfaces of many cells and extracellular matrices. Alternatively spliced transcript variants differing only in their 5' UTRs have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 12
Chromosome: CHR7: 2443194 -2474216
Locus: 7p22.3
SDK1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The protein contains six immunoglobulin-like domains and thirteen fibronectin type III domains. Fibronectin type III domains are present in both extracellular and intracellular proteins and tandem repeats are known to contain binding sites for DNA, heparin and the cell surface. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
Gene Name: Sidekick Cell Adhesion Molecule 1
Chromosome: CHR7: 3341079 -4308631
Locus: 7p22.2
