SCYL2-UTP20 Fusion FISH Probe
The SCYL2-UTP20 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SCYL2 and UTP20 genes. The fusion of the SCYL2 and UTP20 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

UTP20 Gene Summary
UTP20 is a component of the U3 small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) (SNORD3A; MIM 180710) protein complex (U3 snoRNP) and is involved in 18S rRNA processing (Wang et al., 2007 [PubMed 17498821]).[supplied by OMIM, Jun 2009]
Gene Name: UTP20, Small Subunit Processome Component
Chromosome: CHR12: 101673904 -101780397
Locus: 12q23.2
SCYL2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene associates with clathrin-coated complexes at the plasma membrane and with endocytic coated vesicles. The encoded protein phosphorylates the beta2 subunit of the plasma membrane adapter complex AP2 and interacts with clathrin, showing involvement in clathrin-dependent pathways between the trans-Golgi network and the endosomal system. In addition, this protein has a role in the Wnt signaling pathway by targeting frizzled 5 (Fzd5) for lysosomal degradation. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
Gene Name: SCY1 Like Pseudokinase 2
Chromosome: CHR12: 100661548 -100733914
Locus: 12q23.1
