SCARB1-EIF3D Fusion FISH Probe
The SCARB1-EIF3D Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SCARB1 and EIF3D genes. The fusion of the SCARB1 and EIF3D genes has been associated with Adrenocortical Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SCARB1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma membrane receptor for high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL). The encoded protein mediates cholesterol transfer to and from HDL. In addition, this protein is a receptor for hepatitis C virus glycoprotein E2. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]
Gene Name: Scavenger Receptor Class B Member 1
Chromosome: CHR12: 125262173 -125348519
Locus: 12q24.31
EIF3D Gene Summary
Eukaryotic translation initiation factor-3 (eIF3), the largest of the eIFs, is a multiprotein complex composed of at least ten nonidentical subunits. The complex binds to the 40S ribosome and helps maintain the 40S and 60S ribosomal subunits in a dissociated state. It is also thought to play a role in the formation of the 40S initiation complex by interacting with the ternary complex of eIF2/GTP/methionyl-tRNA, and by promoting mRNA binding. The protein encoded by this gene is the major RNA binding subunit of the eIF3 complex. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 3 Subunit D
Chromosome: CHR22: 36906896 -36925277
Locus: 22q12.3
