SATB1-GOLGA5 Fusion FISH Probe
The SATB1-GOLGA5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SATB1 and GOLGA5 genes. The fusion of the SATB1 and GOLGA5 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SATB1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a matrix protein which binds nuclear matrix and scaffold-associating DNAs through a unique nuclear architecture. The protein recruits chromatin-remodeling factors in order to regulate chromatin structure and gene expression. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]
Gene Name: SATB Homeobox 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 18389132 -18480265
Locus: 3p24.3
GOLGA5 Gene Summary
The Golgi apparatus, which participates in glycosylation and transport of proteins and lipids in the secretory pathway, consists of a series of stacked cisternae (flattened membrane sacs). Interactions between the Golgi and microtubules are thought to be important for the reorganization of the Golgi after it fragments during mitosis. This gene encodes one of the golgins, a family of proteins localized to the Golgi. This protein is a coiled-coil membrane protein that has been postulated to play a role in vesicle tethering and docking. Translocations involving this gene and the ret proto-oncogene have been found in tumor tissues; the chimeric sequences have been designated RET-II and PTC5. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 5. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
Gene Name: Golgin A5
Chromosome: CHR14: 93260649 -93306304
Locus: 14q32.12
