RRM2B-ZFPM2 Fusion FISH Probe
The RRM2B-ZFPM2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RRM2B and ZFPM2 genes. The fusion of the RRM2B and ZFPM2 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ZFPM2 Gene Summary
The zinc finger protein encoded by this gene is a widely expressed member of the FOG family of transcription factors. The family members modulate the activity of GATA family proteins, which are important regulators of hematopoiesis and cardiogenesis in mammals. It has been demonstrated that the protein can both activate and down-regulate expression of GATA-target genes, suggesting different modulation in different promoter contexts. A related mRNA suggests an alternatively spliced product but this information is not yet fully supported by the sequence. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein, FOG Family Member 2
Chromosome: CHR8: 106331146 -106816767
Locus: 8q23.1
RRM2B Gene Summary
This gene encodes the small subunit of a p53-inducible ribonucleotide reductase. This heterotetrameric enzyme catalyzes the conversion of ribonucleoside diphosphates to deoxyribonucleoside diphosphates. The product of this reaction is necessary for DNA synthesis. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal recessive mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome, autosomal dominant progressive external ophthalmoplegia-5, and mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalopathy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]
Gene Name: Ribonucleotide Reductase Regulatory TP53 Inducible Subunit M2B
Chromosome: CHR8: 103216728 -103251346
Locus: 8q22.3
