RREB1-LYRM4 Fusion FISH Probe
The RREB1-LYRM4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RREB1 and LYRM4 genes. The fusion of the RREB1 and LYRM4 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RREB1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a zinc finger transcription factor that binds to RAS-responsive elements (RREs) of gene promoters. It has been shown that the calcitonin gene promoter contains an RRE and that the encoded protein binds there and increases expression of calcitonin, which may be involved in Ras/Raf-mediated cell differentiation. Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009]
Gene Name: Ras Responsive Element Binding Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR6: 7107829 -7252213
Locus: 6p24.3
LYRM4 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is found in both mitochondria and the nucleus, where it binds cysteine desulfurase and helps free inorganic sulfur for Fe/S clusters. Disruption of this gene negatively impacts mitochondrial and cytosolic iron homeostasis. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Gene Name: LYR Motif Containing 4
Chromosome: CHR6: 5108652 -5261172
Locus: 6p25.1
