RPS6KB1-FKBP10 Fusion FISH Probe
The RPS6KB1-FKBP10 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RPS6KB1 and FKBP10 genes. The fusion of the RPS6KB1 and FKBP10 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RPS6KB1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the ribosomal S6 kinase family of serine/threonine kinases. The encoded protein responds to mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) signaling to promote protein synthesis, cell growth, and cell proliferation. Activity of this gene has been associated with human cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed. The use of alternative translation start sites results in isoforms with longer or shorter N-termini which may differ in their subcellular localizations. There are two pseudogenes for this gene on chromosome 17. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]
Gene Name: Ribosomal Protein S6 Kinase B1
Chromosome: CHR17: 57970442 -58027786
Locus: 17q23.1
FKBP10 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the FKBP-type peptidyl-prolyl cis/trans isomerase (PPIase) family. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and acts as a molecular chaperone. Alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms have been reported, but their biological validity has not been determined.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]
Gene Name: FK506 Binding Protein 10
Chromosome: CHR17: 39968961 -39979469
Locus: 17q21.2
