RPN1-MAP6D1 Fusion FISH Probe

The RPN1-MAP6D1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RPN1 and MAP6D1 genes. The fusion of the RPN1 and MAP6D1 genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Papillary Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

RPN1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a type I integral membrane protein found only in the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The encoded protein is part of an N-oligosaccharyl transferase complex that links high mannose oligosaccharides to asparagine residues found in the Asn-X-Ser/Thr consensus motif of nascent polypeptide chains. This protein forms part of the regulatory subunit of the 26S proteasome and may mediate binding of ubiquitin-like domains to this proteasome. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Ribophorin I

Chromosome: CHR3: 128338812 -128369719

Locus: 3q21.3

MAP6D1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein highly similar to the mouse MAP6 domain containing 1 protein, which is related to the STOP proteins. Based on the study of the mouse protein, the encoded protein may function as a calmodulin-regulated neuronal protein that binds and stabilizes microtubules but also associates with the Golgi membranes through N-terminal palmitoylation. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]

Gene Name: MAP6 Domain Containing 1
