ROCK2-NTSR2 Fusion FISH Probe
The ROCK2-NTSR2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ROCK2 and NTSR2 genes. The fusion of the ROCK2 and NTSR2 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ROCK2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates cytokinesis, smooth muscle contraction, the formation of actin stress fibers and focal adhesions, and the activation of the c-fos serum response element. This protein, which is an isozyme of ROCK1 is a target for the small GTPase Rho. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Rho Associated Coiled-coil Containing Protein Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR2: 11321777 -11484711
Locus: 2p25.1
NTSR2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor family that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Binding and pharmacological studies demonstrate that this receptor binds neurotensin as well as several other ligands already described for neurotensin NT1 receptor. However, unlike NT1 receptor, this gene recognizes, with high affinity, levocabastine, a histamine H1 receptor antagonist previously shown to compete with neurotensin for low-affinity binding sites in brain. These activities suggest that this receptor may be of physiological importance and that a natural agonist for the receptor may exist. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Neurotensin Receptor 2
Chromosome: CHR2: 11798303 -11810329
Locus: 2p25.1
