ROBO2-ERLIN2 Fusion FISH Probe
The ROBO2-ERLIN2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ROBO2 and ERLIN2 genes. The fusion of the ROBO2 and ERLIN2 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ROBO2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ROBO family, part of the immunoglobulin superfamily of proteins that are highly conserved from fly to human. The encoded protein is a transmembrane receptor for the slit homolog 2 protein and functions in axon guidance and cell migration. Mutations in this gene are associated with vesicoureteral reflux, characterized by the backward flow of urine from the bladder into the ureters or the kidney. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2014]
Gene Name: Roundabout Guidance Receptor 2
Chromosome: CHR3: 77089293 -77699114
Locus: 3p12.3
ERLIN2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the SPFH domain-containing family of lipid raft-associated proteins. The encoded protein is localized to lipid rafts of the endoplasmic reticulum and plays a critical role in inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3) signaling by mediating ER-associated degradation of activated IP3 receptors. Mutations in this gene are a cause of spastic paraplegia-18 (SPG18). Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]
Gene Name: ER Lipid Raft Associated 2
Chromosome: CHR8: 37594096 -37615319
Locus: 8p11.23
