RNF13-TM4SF4 Fusion FISH Probe

The RNF13-TM4SF4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RNF13 and TM4SF4 genes. The fusion of the RNF13 and TM4SF4 genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma, and Uterine Carcinosarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

TM4SF4 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that can regulate cell proliferation.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

Gene Name: Transmembrane 4 L Six Family Member 4

Chromosome: CHR3: 149192367 -149221181

Locus: 3q25.1

RNF13 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene contains a RING zinc finger, a motif known to be involved in protein-protein interactions. The specific function of this gene has not yet been determined. Alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode the same protein have been reported. A pseudogene, which is also located on chromosome 3, has been defined for this gene.
