RNF121-PCDH9 Fusion FISH Probe
The RNF121-PCDH9 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RNF121 and PCDH9 genes. The fusion of the RNF121 and PCDH9 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PCDH9 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the protocadherin family, and cadherin superfamily, of transmembrane proteins containing cadherin domains. These proteins mediate cell adhesion in neural tissues in the presence of calcium. The encoded protein may be involved in signaling at neuronal synaptic junctions. Sharing a characteristic with other protocadherin genes, this gene has a notably large exon that encodes multiple cadherin domains and a transmembrane region. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012]
Gene Name: Protocadherin 9
Chromosome: CHR13: 66876965 -67804468
Locus: 13q21.32
RNF121 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene contains a RING finger, a motif present in a variety of functionally distinct proteins and known to be involved in protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been noted for this gene, however, not all are likely to encode viable protein products. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]
Gene Name: Ring Finger Protein 121
Chromosome: CHR11: 71639767 -71708643
Locus: 11q13.4
