RIOK3-TAF4B Fusion FISH Probe
The RIOK3-TAF4B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RIOK3 and TAF4B genes. The fusion of the RIOK3 and TAF4B genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TAF4B Gene Summary
TATA binding protein (TBP) and TBP-associated factors (TAFs) participate in the formation of the TFIID protein complex, which is involved in initiation of transcription of genes by RNA polymerase II. This gene encodes a cell type-specific TAF that may be responsible for mediating transcription by a subset of activators in B cells. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]
Gene Name: TATA-box Binding Protein Associated Factor 4b
Chromosome: CHR18: 23806408 -23971650
Locus: 18q11.2
RIOK3 Gene Summary
This gene was first identified by the similarity of its product to the Aspergillus nidulans SUDD protein. This gene is now recognized as a member of the right open reading frame (RIO) kinase gene family. This gene encodes a serine/threonine kinase that localizes to the cytoplasm and plays a role in the processing of the pre-40 S ribosomal subunit. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]
Gene Name: RIO Kinase 3
Chromosome: CHR18: 21032786 -21063099
Locus: 18q11.2
