RICTOR-C9 Fusion FISH Probe
The RICTOR-C9 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RICTOR and C9 genes. The fusion of the RICTOR and C9 genes has been associated with Esophageal Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

C9 Gene Summary
This gene encodes the final component of the complement system. It participates in the formation of the Membrane Attack Complex (MAC). The MAC assembles on bacterial membranes to form a pore, permitting disruption of bacterial membrane organization. Mutations in this gene cause component C9 deficiency. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]
Gene Name: Complement C9
Chromosome: CHR5: 39284377 -39364655
Locus: 5p13.1
RICTOR Gene Summary
RICTOR and MTOR (FRAP1; MIM 601231) are components of a protein complex that integrates nutrient- and growth factor-derived signals to regulate cell growth (Sarbassov et al., 2004 [PubMed 15268862]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: RPTOR Independent Companion Of MTOR Complex 2
Chromosome: CHR5: 38938021 -39074501
Locus: 5p13.1
