RHOA-NICN1 Fusion FISH Probe
The RHOA-NICN1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RHOA and NICN1 genes. The fusion of the RHOA and NICN1 genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RHOA Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Rho family of small GTPases, which cycle between inactive GDP-bound and active GTP-bound states and function as molecular switches in signal transduction cascades. Rho proteins promote reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton and regulate cell shape, attachment, and motility. Overexpression of this gene is associated with tumor cell proliferation and metastasis. Multiple alternatively spliced variants have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
Gene Name: Ras Homolog Family Member A
Chromosome: CHR3: 49396578 -49449526
Locus: 3p21.31
NICN1 Gene Summary
This protein encoded by this gene localizes to the nucleus and is expressed in numerous tissues including brain, testis, liver, and kidney. This refseq contains genomic sequence in its 3' UTR which is not supported by experimental evidence. Computer predictions indicate that this region of the 3' UTR contains hairpin-forming self-complementary sequence which is possibly excised after transcription. This gene has a pseudogene on chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Nicolin 1
