REPS2-GLRA2 Fusion FISH Probe
The REPS2-GLRA2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the REPS2 and GLRA2 genes. The fusion of the REPS2 and GLRA2 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

GLRA2 Gene Summary
The glycine receptor consists of two subunits, alpha and beta, and acts as a pentamer. The protein encoded by this gene is an alpha subunit and can bind strychnine. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2010]
Gene Name: Glycine Receptor Alpha 2
Chromosome: CHRX: 14547419 -14749933
Locus: Xp22.2
REPS2 Gene Summary
The product of this gene is part of a protein complex that regulates the endocytosis of growth factor receptors. The encoded protein directly interacts with a GTPase activating protein that functions downstream of the small G protein Ral. Its expression can negatively affect receptor internalization and inhibit growth factor signaling. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Gene Name: RALBP1 Associated Eps Domain Containing 2
Chromosome: CHRX: 16964813 -17171403
Locus: Xp22.2
