RECQL5-UNC13D Fusion FISH Probe
The RECQL5-UNC13D Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RECQL5 and UNC13D genes. The fusion of the RECQL5 and UNC13D genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RECQL5 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a helicase that is important for genome stability. The encoded protein also prevents aberrant homologous recombination by displacing RAD51 from ssDNA. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
Gene Name: RecQ Like Helicase 5
Chromosome: CHR17: 73622924 -73663269
Locus: 17q25.1
UNC13D Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the UNC13 family, containing similar domain structure as other family members but lacking an N-terminal phorbol ester-binding C1 domain present in other Munc13 proteins. The protein appears to play a role in vesicle maturation during exocytosis and is involved in regulation of cytolytic granules secretion. Mutations in this gene are associated with familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis type 3, a genetically heterogeneous, rare autosomal recessive disorder. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Unc-13 Homolog D
Chromosome: CHR17: 73823307 -73840798
Locus: 17q25.1
