RB1-KCNRG Fusion FISH Probe
The RB1-KCNRG Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RB1 and KCNRG genes. The fusion of the RB1 and KCNRG genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RB1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a negative regulator of the cell cycle and was the first tumor suppressor gene found. The encoded protein also stabilizes constitutive heterochromatin to maintain the overall chromatin structure. The active, hypophosphorylated form of the protein binds transcription factor E2F1. Defects in this gene are a cause of childhood cancer retinoblastoma (RB), bladder cancer, and osteogenic sarcoma. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: RB Transcriptional Corepressor 1
Chromosome: CHR13: 48877882 -49056026
Locus: 13q14.2
KCNRG Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein which regulates the activity of voltage-gated potassium channels. This gene is on chromosome 13 and overlaps the gene for tripartite motif containing 13 on the same strand. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]
Gene Name: Potassium Channel Regulator
Chromosome: CHR13: 50589389 -50595058
