RB1-GADD45GIP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The RB1-GADD45GIP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RB1 and GADD45GIP1 genes. The fusion of the RB1 and GADD45GIP1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

RB1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a negative regulator of the cell cycle and was the first tumor suppressor gene found. The encoded protein also stabilizes constitutive heterochromatin to maintain the overall chromatin structure. The active, hypophosphorylated form of the protein binds transcription factor E2F1. Defects in this gene are a cause of childhood cancer retinoblastoma (RB), bladder cancer, and osteogenic sarcoma. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: RB Transcriptional Corepressor 1
Chromosome: CHR13: 48877882 -49056026
Locus: 13q14.2
GADD45GIP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a nuclear-localized protein that may be induced by p53 and regulates the cell cycle by inhibiting G1 to S phase progression. The encoded protein may interact with other cell cycle regulators. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]
Gene Name: GADD45G Interacting Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR19: 13064971 -13068050
Locus: 19p13.13
