RASSF5-IKBKE Fusion FISH Probe
The RASSF5-IKBKE Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RASSF5 and IKBKE genes. The fusion of the RASSF5 and IKBKE genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

IKBKE Gene Summary
IKBKE is a noncanonical I-kappa-B (see MIM 164008) kinase (IKK) that is essential for regulating antiviral signaling pathways. IKBKE has also been identified as a breast cancer (MIM 114480) oncogene and is amplified and overexpressed in over 30% of breast carcinomas and breast cancer cell lines (Hutti et al., 2009 [PubMed 19481526]).[supplied by OMIM, Oct 2009]
Gene Name: Inhibitor Of Nuclear Factor Kappa B Kinase Subunit Epsilon
Chromosome: CHR1: 206643585 -206670223
Locus: 1q32.1
RASSF5 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the Ras association domain family. It functions as a tumor suppressor, and is inactivated in a variety of cancers. The encoded protein localizes to centrosomes and microtubules, and associates with the GTP-activated forms of Ras, Rap1, and several other Ras-like small GTPases. The protein regulates lymphocyte adhesion and suppresses cell growth in response to activated Rap1 or Ras. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Gene Name: Ras Association Domain Family Member 5
Chromosome: CHR1: 206680878 -206762616
