RASEF-OSTF1 Fusion FISH Probe
The RASEF-OSTF1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RASEF and OSTF1 genes. The fusion of the RASEF and OSTF1 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

OSTF1 Gene Summary
Osteoclast-stimulating factor-1 is an intracellular protein produced by osteoclasts that indirectly induces osteoclast formation and bone resorption (Reddy et al., 1998 [PubMed 10092216]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Osteoclast Stimulating Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR9: 77703397 -77762114
Locus: 9q21.13
RASEF Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the Rab family of GTPases that are involved in regulation of membrane traffic. The encoded protein contains an N-terminal EF-hand domain, a coiled-coil motif and a C-terminal Rab domain. A potential role as tumor suppressor has been indicated for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012]
Gene Name: RAS And EF-hand Domain Containing
Chromosome: CHR9: 85597316 -85678043
Locus: 9q21.32
