RASA2-SUCNR1 Fusion FISH Probe
The RASA2-SUCNR1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RASA2 and SUCNR1 genes. The fusion of the RASA2 and SUCNR1 genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RASA2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is member of the GAP1 family of GTPase-activating proteins. The gene product stimulates the GTPase activity of normal RAS p21 but not its oncogenic counterpart. Acting as a suppressor of RAS function, the protein enhances the weak intrinsic GTPase activity of RAS proteins resulting in the inactive GDP-bound form of RAS, thereby allowing control of cellular proliferation and differentiation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]
Gene Name: RAS P21 Protein Activator 2
Chromosome: CHR3: 141205925 -141331197
Locus: 3q23
SUCNR1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a G-protein-coupled receptor for succinate, an intermediate molecule of the citric acid cycle. It is involved in the promotion of hematopoietic progenitor cell development, and it has a potential role in renovascular hypertension which has known correlations to renal failure, diabetes and atherosclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
Gene Name: Succinate Receptor 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 151591430 -151599876
