RARRES3-TGFBI Fusion FISH Probe
The RARRES3-TGFBI Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RARRES3 and TGFBI genes. The fusion of the RARRES3 and TGFBI genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

RARRES3 Gene Summary
Retinoids exert biologic effects such as potent growth inhibitory and cell differentiation activities and are used in the treatment of hyperproliferative dermatological diseases. These effects are mediated by specific nuclear receptor proteins that are members of the steroid and thyroid hormone receptor superfamily of transcriptional regulators. RARRES1, RARRES2, and RARRES3 are genes whose expression is upregulated by the synthetic retinoid tazarotene. RARRES3 is thought act as a tumor suppressor or growth regulator. Gene Name: Retinoic Acid Receptor Responder 3
Chromosome: CHR11: 63304272 -63313930
Locus: 11q12.3
TGFBI Gene Summary
This gene encodes an RGD-containing protein that binds to type I, II and IV collagens. The RGD motif is found in many extracellular matrix proteins modulating cell adhesion and serves as a ligand recognition sequence for several integrins. This protein plays a role in cell-collagen interactions and may be involved in endochondrial bone formation in cartilage. The protein is induced by transforming growth factor-beta and acts to inhibit cell adhesion. Mutations in this gene are associated with multiple types of corneal dystrophy. Gene Name: Transforming Growth Factor Beta Induced
Chromosome: CHR5: 135364583 -135399507
Locus: 5q31.1
