RARA-STAC2 Fusion FISH Probe
The RARA-STAC2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RARA and STAC2 genes. The fusion of the RARA and STAC2 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RARA Gene Summary
This gene represents a nuclear retinoic acid receptor. The encoded protein, retinoic acid receptor alpha, regulates transcription in a ligand-dependent manner. This gene has been implicated in regulation of development, differentiation, apoptosis, granulopoeisis, and transcription of clock genes. Translocations between this locus and several other loci have been associated with acute promyelocytic leukemia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this locus.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
Gene Name: Retinoic Acid Receptor Alpha
Chromosome: CHR17: 38465422 -38513895
Locus: 17q21.2
STAC2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein containing an SH3 domain and a zinc finger domain. The encoded protein has been shown to regulate calcium channel inactivation in a human cell line. Reduced expression of this gene has been observed in human heart failure. [provided by RefSeq, May 2017]
Gene Name: SH3 And Cysteine Rich Domain 2
Chromosome: CHR17: 37366788 -37382040
Locus: 17q12
