RAB2A-TRAPPC9 Fusion FISH Probe
The RAB2A-TRAPPC9 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RAB2A and TRAPPC9 genes. The fusion of the RAB2A and TRAPPC9 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RAB2A Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the Rab family, members of which are small molecular weight guanosine triphosphatases (GTPases) that contain highly conserved domains involved in GTP binding and hydrolysis. The Rabs are membrane-bound proteins, involved in vesicular fusion and trafficking. This protein is a resident of pre-Golgi intermediates, and is required for protein transport from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi complex. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: RAB2A, Member RAS Oncogene Family
Chromosome: CHR8: 61429468 -61536203
Locus: 8q12.1-q12.2
TRAPPC9 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that likely plays a role in NF-kappa-B signaling. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal-recessive cognitive disability. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]
Gene Name: Trafficking Protein Particle Complex 9
