PXN-MSI1 Fusion FISH Probe
The PXN-MSI1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PXN and MSI1 genes. The fusion of the PXN and MSI1 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma, and Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MSI1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein containing two conserved tandem RNA recognition motifs. Similar proteins in other species function as RNA-binding proteins and play central roles in posttranscriptional gene regulation. Expression of this gene has been correlated with the grade of the malignancy and proliferative activity in gliomas and melanomas. A pseudogene for this gene is located on chromosome 11q13. Gene Name: Musashi RNA Binding Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR12: 120779132 -120806958
Locus: 12q24.31
PXN Gene Summary
This gene encodes a cytoskeletal protein involved in actin-membrane attachment at sites of cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix (focal adhesion). Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. These isoforms exhibit different expression pattern, and have different biochemical, as well as physiological properties (PMID:9054445). [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: Paxillin
Chromosome: CHR12: 120648241 -120703574
