PTTG1IP-CLDN4 Fusion FISH Probe
The PTTG1IP-CLDN4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PTTG1IP and CLDN4 genes. The fusion of the PTTG1IP and CLDN4 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PTTG1IP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a single-pass type I integral membrane protein, which binds to pituitary tumor-transforming 1 protein (PTTG1), and facilitates translocation of PTTG1 into the nucleus. Coexpression of this protein and PTTG1 induces transcriptional activation of basic fibroblast growth factor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. Gene Name: PTTG1 Interacting Protein
Chromosome: CHR21: 46269499 -46293818
Locus: 21q22.3
CLDN4 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this intronless gene belongs to the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins that are components of the epithelial cell tight junctions, which regulate movement of solutes and ions through the paracellular space. This protein is a high-affinity receptor for Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin (CPE) and may play a role in internal organ development and function during pre- and postnatal life. This gene is deleted in Williams-Beuren syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder affecting multiple systems. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Gene Name: Claudin 4
Chromosome: CHR7: 73245192 -73247015
Locus: 7q11.23
