PTK7-PTCRA Fusion FISH Probe
The PTK7-PTCRA Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PTK7 and PTCRA genes. The fusion of the PTK7 and PTCRA genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PTK7 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the receptor protein tyrosine kinase family of proteins that transduce extracellular signals across the cell membrane. The encoded protein lacks detectable catalytic tyrosine kinase activity, is involved in the Wnt signaling pathway and plays a role in multiple cellular processes including polarity and adhesion. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]
Gene Name: Protein Tyrosine Kinase 7 (inactive)
Chromosome: CHR6: 43044028 -43129457
Locus: 6p21.1
PTCRA Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a single-pass type I membrane protein that is found in immmature but not mature T-cells. Along with TCRB and CD3 complex, the encoded protein forms the pre-T-cell receptor complex, which regulates early T-cell development. Four transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
Gene Name: Pre T-cell Antigen Receptor Alpha
Chromosome: CHR6: 42883726 -42893575
Locus: 6p21.1
