PTK2-TRAPPC9 Fusion FISH Probe
The PTK2-TRAPPC9 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PTK2 and TRAPPC9 genes. The fusion of the PTK2 and TRAPPC9 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma, Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma, and Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PTK2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinase which is found concentrated in the focal adhesions that form between cells growing in the presence of extracellular matrix constituents. The encoded protein is a member of the FAK subfamily of protein tyrosine kinases but lacks significant sequence similarity to kinases from other subfamilies. Activation of this gene may be an important early step in cell growth and intracellular signal transduction pathways triggered in response to certain neural peptides or to cell interactions with the extracellular matrix. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2017]
Gene Name: Protein Tyrosine Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR8: 141668480 -142011412
Locus: 8q24.3
TRAPPC9 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that likely plays a role in NF-kappa-B signaling. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal-recessive cognitive disability. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]
Gene Name: Trafficking Protein Particle Complex 9
Chromosome: CHR8: 140742585 -141468678
Locus: 8q24.3
