PTK2-MKLN1 Fusion FISH Probe
The PTK2-MKLN1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PTK2 and MKLN1 genes. The fusion of the PTK2 and MKLN1 genes has been associated with Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

MKLN1 Gene Summary
Muskelin is an intracellular protein that acts as a mediator of cell spreading and cytoskeletal responses to the extracellular matrix component thrombospondin I (MIM 188060) (Adams et al., 1998 [PubMed 9724633]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Muskelin 1
Chromosome: CHR7: 130794854 -131181398
Locus: 7q32.3
PTK2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinase which is found concentrated in the focal adhesions that form between cells growing in the presence of extracellular matrix constituents. The encoded protein is a member of the FAK subfamily of protein tyrosine kinases but lacks significant sequence similarity to kinases from other subfamilies. Activation of this gene may be an important early step in cell growth and intracellular signal transduction pathways triggered in response to certain neural peptides or to cell interactions with the extracellular matrix. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2017]
Gene Name: Protein Tyrosine Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR8: 141668480 -142011412
Locus: 8q24.3
