PSMA6-FAM177A1 Fusion FISH Probe

The PSMA6-FAM177A1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PSMA6 and FAM177A1 genes. The fusion of the PSMA6 and FAM177A1 genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

PSMA6 Gene Summary

The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered ring-shaped 20S core structure. The core structure is composed of 4 rings of 28 non-identical subunits; 2 rings are composed of 7 alpha subunits and 2 rings are composed of 7 beta subunits. Proteasomes are distributed throughout eukaryotic cells at a high concentration and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent process in a non-lysosomal pathway. An essential function of a modified proteasome, the immunoproteasome, is the processing of class I MHC peptides. This gene encodes a member of the peptidase T1A family, that is a 20S core alpha subunit. Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene. A pseudogene has been identified on the Y chromosome. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]

Gene Name: Proteasome Subunit Alpha 6

Chromosome: CHR14: 35761573 -35786682

Locus: 14q13.2

FAM177A1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of a conserved protein family. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. This gene is thought to be associated with susceptibility to juvenile idiopathic arthritis. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2017]

Gene Name: Family With Sequence Similarity 177 Member A1

Chromosome: CHR14: 35514112 -35552589

Locus: 14q13.2
