PSAT1-MICB Fusion FISH Probe
The PSAT1-MICB Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PSAT1 and MICB genes. The fusion of the PSAT1 and MICB genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

MICB Gene Summary
This gene encodes a heavily glycosylated protein which is a ligand for the NKG2D type II receptor. Binding of the ligand activates the cytolytic response of natural killer (NK) cells, CD8 alphabeta T cells, and gammadelta T cells which express the receptor. This protein is stress-induced and is similar to MHC class I molecules; however, it does not associate with beta-2-microglobulin or bind peptides. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]
Gene Name: MHC Class I Polypeptide-related Sequence B
Chromosome: CHR6_dbb_hap3: 2751270 -2764495
Locus: 6p21.33
PSAT1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the class-V pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. The encoded protein is a phosphoserine aminotransferase and decreased expression may be associated with schizophrenia. Mutations in this gene are also associated with phosphoserine aminotransferase deficiency. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of this gene have been defined on chromosomes 1, 3, and 8. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
Gene Name: Phosphoserine Aminotransferase 1
Chromosome: CHR9: 80912058 -80945009
Locus: 9q21.2
