PRPF6-SDC4 Fusion FISH Probe
The PRPF6-SDC4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PRPF6 and SDC4 genes. The fusion of the PRPF6 and SDC4 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SDC4 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane (type I) heparan sulfate proteoglycan that functions as a receptor in intracellular signaling. The encoded protein is found as a homodimer and is a member of the syndecan proteoglycan family. This gene is found on chromosome 20, while a pseudogene has been found on chromosome 22. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Syndecan 4
Chromosome: CHR20: 43953928 -43977064
Locus: 20q13.12
PRPF6 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene appears to be involved in pre-mRNA splicing, possibly acting as a bridging factor between U5 and U4/U6 snRNPs in formation of the spliceosome. The encoded protein also can bind androgen receptor, providing a link between transcriptional activation and splicing. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Pre-mRNA Processing Factor 6
Chromosome: CHR20: 62612430 -62664453
Locus: 20q13.33
