PPP2R2A-ATCAY Fusion FISH Probe
The PPP2R2A-ATCAY Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PPP2R2A and ATCAY genes. The fusion of the PPP2R2A and ATCAY genes has been associated with Esophageal Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PPP2R2A Gene Summary
The product of this gene belongs to the phosphatase 2 regulatory subunit B family. Protein phosphatase 2 is one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases, and it is implicated in the negative control of cell growth and division. It consists of a common heteromeric core enzyme, which is composed of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit, that associates with a variety of regulatory subunits. The B regulatory subunit might modulate substrate selectivity and catalytic activity. This gene encodes an alpha isoform of the regulatory subunit B55 subfamily. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]
Gene Name: Protein Phosphatase 2 Regulatory Subunit Balpha
Chromosome: CHR8: 26149006 -26230195
Locus: 8p21.2
ATCAY Gene Summary
This gene encodes a neuron-restricted protein that contains a CRAL-TRIO motif common to proteins that bind small lipophilic molecules. Mutations in this gene are associated with cerebellar ataxia, Cayman type. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: ATCAY, Caytaxin
