PPP1CB-DRAM1 Fusion FISH Probe
The PPP1CB-DRAM1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PPP1CB and DRAM1 genes. The fusion of the PPP1CB and DRAM1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PPP1CB Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is one of the three catalytic subunits of protein phosphatase 1 (PP1). PP1 is a serine/threonine specific protein phosphatase known to be involved in the regulation of a variety of cellular processes, such as cell division, glycogen metabolism, muscle contractility, protein synthesis, and HIV-1 viral transcription. Mouse studies suggest that PP1 functions as a suppressor of learning and memory. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed. Gene Name: Protein Phosphatase 1 Catalytic Subunit Beta
Chromosome: CHR2: 28974613 -29025806
Locus: 2p23.2
DRAM1 Gene Summary
This gene is regulated as part of the p53 tumor suppressor pathway. The gene encodes a lysosomal membrane protein that is required for the induction of autophagy by the pathway. Decreased transcriptional expression of this gene is associated with various tumors. This gene has a pseudogene on chromosome 4. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
