PPM1G-LPAR1 Fusion FISH Probe
The PPM1G-LPAR1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PPM1G and LPAR1 genes. The fusion of the PPM1G and LPAR1 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

LPAR1 Gene Summary
The integral membrane protein encoded by this gene is a lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) receptor from a group known as EDG receptors. These receptors are members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily. Utilized by LPA for cell signaling, EDG receptors mediate diverse biologic functions, including proliferation, platelet aggregation, smooth muscle contraction, inhibition of neuroblastoma cell differentiation, chemotaxis, and tumor cell invasion. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Lysophosphatidic Acid Receptor 1
Chromosome: CHR9: 113636053 -113800365
Locus: 9q31.3
PPM1G Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases. PP2C family members are known to be negative regulators of cell stress response pathways. This phosphatase is found to be responsible for the dephosphorylation of Pre-mRNA splicing factors, which is important for the formation of functional spliceosome. Studies of a similar gene in mice suggested a role of this phosphatase in regulating cell cycle progression. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]
Gene Name: Protein Phosphatase, Mg2+/Mn2+ Dependent 1G
Chromosome: CHR2: 27604060 -27632496
Locus: 2p23.3
