PPARD-WNK4 Fusion FISH Probe
The PPARD-WNK4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PPARD and WNK4 genes. The fusion of the PPARD and WNK4 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PPARD Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) family. The encoded protein is thought to function as an integrator of transcriptional repression and nuclear receptor signaling. It may inhibit the ligand-induced transcriptional activity of peroxisome proliferator activated receptors alpha and gamma, though evidence for this effect is inconsistent. Expression of this gene in colorectal cancer cells may be variable but is typically relatively low. Knockout studies in mice suggested a role for this protein in myelination of the corpus callosum, lipid metabolism, differentiation, and epidermal cell proliferation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]
Gene Name: Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor Delta
Chromosome: CHR6: 35310334 -35395968
Locus: 6p21.31
WNK4 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the WNK family of serine-threonine protein kinases. The kinase is part of the tight junction complex in kidney cells, and regulates the balance between NaCl reabsorption and K(+) secretion. The kinase regulates the activities of several types of ion channels, cotransporters, and exchangers involved in electrolyte flux in epithelial cells. Mutations in this gene result in pseudohypoaldosteronism type IIB.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
Gene Name: WNK Lysine Deficient Protein Kinase 4
Chromosome: CHR17: 40932648 -40949084
Locus: 17q21.2
