PPARD-WDR27 Fusion FISH Probe
The PPARD-WDR27 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PPARD and WDR27 genes. The fusion of the PPARD and WDR27 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PPARD Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) family. The encoded protein is thought to function as an integrator of transcriptional repression and nuclear receptor signaling. It may inhibit the ligand-induced transcriptional activity of peroxisome proliferator activated receptors alpha and gamma, though evidence for this effect is inconsistent. Expression of this gene in colorectal cancer cells may be variable but is typically relatively low. Knockout studies in mice suggested a role for this protein in myelination of the corpus callosum, lipid metabolism, differentiation, and epidermal cell proliferation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]
Gene Name: Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor Delta
Chromosome: CHR6: 35310334 -35395968
Locus: 6p21.31
WDR27 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein with multiple WD repeats. Proteins with these repeats may form scaffolds for protein-protein interaction and play key roles in cell signalling. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, but the full-length structure of some of these variants cannot be determined. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]
Gene Name: WD Repeat Domain 27
Chromosome: CHR6: 169857302 -170102159
Locus: 6q27
