PPARD-SRGAP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The PPARD-SRGAP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PPARD and SRGAP1 genes. The fusion of the PPARD and SRGAP1 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PPARD Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) family. The encoded protein is thought to function as an integrator of transcriptional repression and nuclear receptor signaling. It may inhibit the ligand-induced transcriptional activity of peroxisome proliferator activated receptors alpha and gamma, though evidence for this effect is inconsistent. Expression of this gene in colorectal cancer cells may be variable but is typically relatively low. Knockout studies in mice suggested a role for this protein in myelination of the corpus callosum, lipid metabolism, differentiation, and epidermal cell proliferation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]
Gene Name: Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor Delta
Chromosome: CHR6: 35310334 -35395968
Locus: 6p21.31
SRGAP1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a GTPase activator, working with the GTPase CDC42 to negatively regulate neuronal migration. The encoded protein interacts with the transmembrane receptor ROBO1 to inactivate CDC42. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Gene Name: SLIT-ROBO Rho GTPase Activating Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR12: 64238540 -64541613
Locus: 12q14.2
