POLE-ANKS1B Fusion FISH Probe
The POLE-ANKS1B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the POLE and ANKS1B genes. The fusion of the POLE and ANKS1B genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

POLE Gene Summary
This gene encodes the catalytic subunit of DNA polymerase epsilon. The enzyme is involved in DNA repair and chromosomal DNA replication. Mutations in this gene have been associated with colorectal cancer 12 and facial dysmorphism, immunodeficiency, livedo, and short stature. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Gene Name: DNA Polymerase Epsilon, Catalytic Subunit
Chromosome: CHR12: 133200347 -133263945
Locus: 12q24.33
ANKS1B Gene Summary
This gene encodes a multi-domain protein that is predominantly expressed in brain and testis. This protein interacts with amyloid beta protein precursor (AbetaPP) and may have a role in normal brain development, and in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. Expression of this gene has been shown to be elevated in patients with pre-B cell acute lymphocytic leukemia associated with t(1;19) translocation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms (some with different subcellular localization, PMID:15004329) have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: Ankyrin Repeat And Sterile Alpha Motif Domain Containing 1B
Chromosome: CHR12: 99128568 -100378432
Locus: 12q23.1
