POLB-UVRAG Fusion FISH Probe
The POLB-UVRAG Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the POLB and UVRAG genes. The fusion of the POLB and UVRAG genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

POLB Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a DNA polymerase involved in base excision and repair, also called gap-filling DNA synthesis. The encoded protein, acting as a monomer, is normally found in the cytoplasm, but it translocates to the nucleus upon DNA damage. Several transcript variants of this gene exist, but the full-length nature of only one has been described to date. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]
Gene Name: DNA Polymerase Beta
Chromosome: CHR8: 42195972 -42229331
Locus: 8p11.21
UVRAG Gene Summary
This gene complements the ultraviolet sensitivity of xeroderma pigmentosum group C cells and encodes a protein with a C2 domain. The protein activates the Beclin1-PI(3)KC3 complex, promoting autophagy and suppressing the proliferation and tumorigenicity of human colon cancer cells. Chromosomal aberrations involving this gene are associated with left-right axis malformation and mutations in this gene have been associated with colon cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: UV Radiation Resistance Associated
Chromosome: CHR11: 75526211 -75855282
Locus: 11q13.5
