POFUT1-PRICKLE2 Fusion FISH Probe
The POFUT1-PRICKLE2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the POFUT1 and PRICKLE2 genes. The fusion of the POFUT1 and PRICKLE2 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

POFUT1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the glycosyltransferase O-Fuc family. This enzyme adds O-fucose through an O-glycosidic linkage to conserved serine or threonine residues in the epidermal growth factor-like repeats of a number of cell surface and secreted proteins. O-fucose glycans are involved in ligand-induced receptor signaling. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Protein O-fucosyltransferase 1
Chromosome: CHR20: 30795695 -30826467
Locus: 20q11.21
PRICKLE2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a homolog of Drosophila prickle. The exact function of this gene is not known, however, studies in mice suggest that it may be involved in seizure prevention. Mutations in this gene are associated with progressive myoclonic epilepsy type 5. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Gene Name: Prickle Planar Cell Polarity Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR3: 64079525 -64211131
Locus: 3p14.1
