PLXNC1-CRADD Fusion FISH Probe
The PLXNC1-CRADD Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PLXNC1 and CRADD genes. The fusion of the PLXNC1 and CRADD genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CRADD Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein containing a death domain (DD) motif. This protein recruits caspase 2/ICH1 to the cell death signal transduction complex, which includes tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNFR1A) and RIPK1/RIP kinase, and acts in promoting apoptosis. A mutation in this gene was associated with cognitive disability. A related pseudogene is found on chromosome 3. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Gene Name: CASP2 And RIPK1 Domain Containing Adaptor With Death Domain
Chromosome: CHR12: 94071150 -94244531
Locus: 12q22
PLXNC1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the plexin family. Plexins are transmembrane receptors for semaphorins, a large family of proteins that regulate axon guidance, cell motility and migration, and the immune response. The encoded protein and its ligand regulate melanocyte adhesion, and viral semaphorins may modulate the immune response by binding to this receptor. The encoded protein may be a tumor suppressor protein for melanoma. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]
