PLD1-SLC7A14 Fusion FISH Probe
The PLD1-SLC7A14 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PLD1 and SLC7A14 genes. The fusion of the PLD1 and SLC7A14 genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PLD1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a phosphatidylcholine-specific phospholipase which catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphatidylcholine in order to yield phosphatidic acid and choline. The enzyme may play a role in signal transduction and subcellular trafficking. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants with both catalytic and regulatory properties. Gene Name: Phospholipase D1
Chromosome: CHR3: 171318194 -171528284
Locus: 3q26.31
SLC7A14 Gene Summary
This gene is predicted to encode a glycosylated, cationic amino acid transporter protein with 14 transmembrane domains. This gene is primarily expressed in skin fibroblasts, neural tissue, and primary endothelial cells and its protein is predicted to mediate lysosomal uptake of cationic amino acids. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa. In mice, this gene is expressed in the photoreceptor layer of the retina where its expression increases over the course of retinal development and persists in the mature retina. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014]
Gene Name: Solute Carrier Family 7 Member 14
Chromosome: CHR3: 170177341 -170303863
Locus: 3q26.2
