PITPNM3-P2RX5 Fusion FISH Probe
The PITPNM3-P2RX5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PITPNM3 and P2RX5 genes. The fusion of the PITPNM3 and P2RX5 genes has been associated with Cholangiocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

P2RX5 Gene Summary
The product of this gene belongs to the family of purinoceptors for ATP. This receptor functions as a ligand-gated ion channel. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the neighboring downstream gene, TAX1BP3 (Tax1 binding protein 3). [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]
Gene Name: Purinergic Receptor P2X 5
Chromosome: CHR17: 3576521 -3599698
Locus: 17p13.2
PITPNM3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of a family of membrane-associated phosphatidylinositol transfer domain-containing proteins. The calcium-binding protein has phosphatidylinositol (PI) transfer activity and interacts with the protein tyrosine kinase PTK2B (also known as PYK2). The protein is homologous to a Drosophila protein that is implicated in the visual transduction pathway in flies. Mutations in this gene result in autosomal dominant cone dystrophy. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
Gene Name: PITPNM Family Member 3
Chromosome: CHR17: 6354582 -6459877
Locus: 17p13.2-p13.1
